Kalmar Heilbut

Morning

Kalmar Heilbut wakes up early in the morning before the sun rises. He gets ready for the day and then takes the family’s pet turtle for a walk, during which he stops by his favorite bakery to buy breakfast for himself, his husband, and his children. Usually, he has breakfast on the way back home and then leaves the rest of the baked goods on the kitchen table for his family to enjoy later, when they wake up. Of course, he makes sure to be especially quiet in the morning, as not to wake anyone.

Work

After breakfast Kalmar takes his bike to make the short trip to his workplace at the harbor. He used to go out to sea as a fisher, but nowadays he oversees the activities at the docks as a manager.

After work

Once he is finished with his work for the day, usually around 3pm, Kalmar goes to pick up his children from school and either goes straight home with them or they make a detour to the local market for groceries. When they arrive home Kalmar takes some time to rest, and the children take their time to play before everyone prepares dinner together.

Hobbies

In the evening Kalmar usually goes out to meet friends or to band meetings. A few years ago, him and a couple of his friends came together as a traditional Salmian folk band where Kalmar plays the accordion.

Politics

When he eventually arrives home for the day, his husband will be home from work as well and most of the days he has already put the children to bed. Kalmar watches the news every day to inform himself about political developments. He was part of the big fisher uprising of Salm, so it is particularly important to him, to make sure the political atmosphere is still in order, as he likes to call it.

Night

Kalmar and his partner spend some quality time together and then head off to bed to rest up for the next day to come.
