OUR VISION,
MISSION
AND DNA

Read about our ideal vision

and mission, as well as the DNA
of the people of our nation.

Vision

The people of Salm live together in equality and harmony. Everyone has equal chances, and nobody needs to fear being discriminated against by governmental institutions.

In Salm people live in close-knit communities, where neighbors are friends. When times are challenging, the Salmians will stick together as an unbreakable force, supporting each other through hardship.

Foreigners are always greeted warmly in this community, and the Salmians love to share and educate people about their rich culture.

Salmians live in close connection with nature and take diligent care of it in return for the goods that nature gifts them. They treat it responsibly and know the importance of maintaining a healthy environment.

Much like within our country, the ideal world would be one where different countries are represented by spokesmen who speak for the people, rather than a king, a president or a government who makes the decision themselves. We, as a nation, think that a world like that would create peace and harmony across the countries.

Mission

Salm is working towards achieving harmony between its people and discovering new ways of balanced coexistence. Scientists are researching ways of introducing more sustainability to the fishing and tourism industries, while the senate communicates with wealthy groups of the country to cooperate on these issues and create common goals to work towards.

A universal basic income was recently introduced to help people escape from poverty, and there will be much room for new jobs and companies to settle while we work towards sustainable fishing methods. New laws for equality between wealthy and less wealthy have been passed and are now being implemented in daily life.

Since tourism is an important factor of our national income, we want to use part of that income to maintain our national beauty and restore historical buildings.

DNA

Though the great mountains of the inland and the astonishing buildings of the seashore cities might give you other ideas, the great nation of Salm has only recently turned to the great (and complex) political system that it has today, ensuring every citizen the right to freedom through battle and uprising.

Naturally, this strive for freedom and independence is engrained within our people. The people of Salm are known to be hard workers, taking only few occasions to look away from their job as seafarers, fishers or warehouse keepers. We value honesty and have an utmost respect for the sea and the life that it supports. This is reflected in every minute of our day-to-day lifestyle, ranging from our religious devotion to the sea to the weekly meetings at the fisher’s market.

Finally, the people of Salm have a natural distrust of dictators or other sole rulers. This has some influence on the nation’s foreign policy. Though once divided, the hatred of past rulers and their wariness of members of the old upper class unite the different regions of Salm under one common goal: a society in which every fisher has a say.
