E.E.L. Carperation, Salm’s biggest fishing tech company, is in the process of creating a smart fishing rod that will impact the recreational fishing industry for the better. The fishing rod is said to have smart sensors that can sense when a fish swims close to it. It will then grab on to the fish with its claw-like hook, making it impossible for the fish to escape.

“The goal is to attract more people to recreational fishing to keep the tradition alive.”

Stör der Hecht, CEO of E.E.L. Carperation, is convinced that this new product will bring new life to recreational fishing. “The goal is to attract more people to recreational fishing to keep the tradition alive”, he said. According to the frontman of the tech giant, fishing is a big tradition in Salm. “We will do everything we can to make fishing appealing for everyone”.

“Fishing is a passion of mine, so bringing the perfect fishing product on the market would be a dream come true.”

Right now, the fishing line is still a work in progress. The company has started production on a prototype, and expect to start testing said prototype at the end of the month. Der Hecht made clear that they want this new product to be absolutely perfect before they put it on the market. “We don’t want this to fail. Fishing Is a passion of mine, so bringing the perfect fishing product on the market would be a dream come true”.

When exactly the fishing rod will be brought to the market is not certain. “There is a lot of time between the prototyping phase and the actual production of the finished product”, der Hecht explained. It is expected that production will commence in either January or February 2023. What the name of the fishing rod is going to be will be revealed by the end of this year.
