Engmar Creek steps down from the Council of Salm

Updated: Dec 11, 2022

Following an intense week of discussion and unrest in Silverside, Engmar Creek has finally decided to step down from his position as representative of Stone Island in the Council of Salm. This decision is the result of several testimonials claiming Creek would have consistently appointed members of old noble families to high-ranking positions, including his own family members. This event marks the first time that a member of the Council of Salm was forced to step down from his position.

The last week has been exceptional at the Council of Salm. Whereas there’s usually hundreds of things to decide on for the representatives of Salm’s regions, this week, only one topic dominated the debate in the first Chamber of Silverside. Council member Engmar Creek has been accused of deliberately appointing members of old noble families to high-ranking positions within our country. Most notably, the councillor would have awarded his own family members with titles through ‘special selection procedures’.

“At some point, my whole department had been replaced in a matter of weeks. That’s when I decided to take action and speak to the Council directly.”

Creek has always been able to brush off accusations of upholding old republican values, but when his own entourage started to be replaced by members of old noble families, they couldn’t stay silent any longer. “We knew that Engmar had a complicated bloodline, but we have always valued equity in our department. That’s why we wanted to give him a chance. Sadly, it seems that Creek doesn’t have the same values.” says one of Creek’s former employees. “At some point, my whole department had been replaced in a matter of weeks. That’s when I decided to take action and speak to the Council directly.”

This first testimonial resulted in many more speaking out against Engmar Creek. Following a dozen of accusations, the Council has instigated an official investigation last week. The case quickly became a big talking point among the people of Salm, and especially among veterans of the Great Fisher Uprising, who fought for the equality of all Salmians.

Not wanting to invoke any riots or public outbursts, Creek decided to step down from the Council even before the investigation was finished. Whether he will get an additional punishment, will depend on the outcome of the investigation. The Council has also stated that they will re-evaluate the skills of all those who were appointed to their positions through Creek’s ‘special selection procedures’.
